The short handed Colts finish October and start November with a trifecta of games over the next week. Starting today the Colts play the Markham Waxers, followed by a mid-week game home to the South Central Coyotes and then wrap-up next Saturday home to the Kingston Frontenacs.

  • Sunday October 30, at Holly 7PM vs Markham Waxers,
  • Wednesday November 2, at East Bayfield 8 pm vs. South Central Coyotes
  • Saturday November 5, at the Innisfil Rec. Centre at 2 pm vs. Kingston Frontenacs.

The Waxers are always dangerous and look to rebound after being shutout by the Colts earlier this season, SCC has rostered a couple of former Colts who will look to shine against their past teammates and Kingston is home to the ETA scoring leader who the Colts will try and shutdown.

The Barrie Colts Minor Midget AAA played a couple of weekend games against their neighbours to the North and South.
The Colts were in Newmarket on Saturday October 22, at 5:00 pm at the Magna Centre to face the York-Simcoe Express. The Colts came out on top winning 3-2, on the strength of goals by Chaykowsky, Hyndman and Skuce with the winner early in the 3rd. Assists went Board, Gillham, Mense-Dietrich, Chaykowsky and Hughes. Sherwood was stellar in net stopping 37 of 39 shots. After a minor dust up at the end of the game the refs handed out 34 man games in suspensions.
On Sunday October 23, the Colts hosted the North Central Predators and the Colts were firing on all cylinders from the opening face-off and won 6 – 0. Colts scorers were Young with the hattie followed with singles by Roberge and Gillham. Assist went to Skuce, Gillham, Hyndman, Hughes and Young. Marks also had a pair of assists too. The short handed Colts were helped by the excellent play of their AP’s, Gerhart who chipped in a goal, Drobczyk with an assist and the strong defensive play of Holmes and MacArthur and goalies Lauzon and Bell.
The Colts regular season record improves to 6-2-1 and the team now looks to start streaking heading into the Silver Stick in late November.
